State Representative Greg Heartsill tells KNIA KRLS News that the bill that would allow a state tax break of up to $2 million to help pay for a major expansion project at the Knoxville Raceway passed the House Wednesday, by a vote of 78-15. Raceway General Manager Brian Stickel says that he is pleased that the bill made it through the house, and that he hopes it moves quickly through the Senate yet this week. He adds that the success of the bill is a tribute to the vision of the racing community, the Marion County Fair Board, and the legislature as they work together to bring more tourism to Marion County and the State of Iowa. Heartsill says the bill is expected to pass the Senate as well.
