More than $1400 was raised for the Knoxville Public Library’s building expansion fund during the Iowa Flag Day celebration on March 29. Library director Roslin Thompson says the pie auction was a success, with more than $974 bid for donated pies. The pie-in-the-face contest was a hit as well, with over $200 raised – at just one dollar per tossed pie. The Rotary Lunch brought in over $206 and t-shirt sales raised just over $66. Thompson said she was very pleased with the turnout, and she says the total may change as more donations come in, and pledges are fulfilled.
