On the last day athletes could qualify events for the Drake Relays, the Pella High boys’ and girls’ track teams turned in some of their best performances of the season in their meets on Thursday. The Lady Dutch won in Newton over second place Cedar Rapids Prairie by 14 points. Pella had 15 season-best performances on the evening and earned three first-place finishes in the process. Ten points were awarded to Pella in the 4 x 200, Distance Medley and Shuttle Hurdle Relays. For the boys, they finished third in Waukee to the host Warriors and to Des Moines Roosevelt.
