Recording some very nice times and distances early in the season, Pella High and Pella Christian’s track teams will head east across the county border to Mahaska for the Oskaloosa Invitational. The meet will be broken into small and large schools, though the entire group will race against one another in one heat for the longer races, including the mile and two mile. Eagles’ girls’ coach, Kevin Herdegen says that those races should provide an opportunity for his ladies to gain some valuable experience against bigger schools. Little Dutch head coach, Brent Van Hauen is looking for good things from his 4 x 800 meter relay team today, but more importantly, he says today’s meet should be a nice preview of next month’s conference meet. First events at Oskaloosa High are scheduled to get under way at 9:00 a.m.
