The 2014 track season got off to a flying start for Pella Christian and PCM’s girls’ track and field teams yesterday in Albia. The Mustangs won the meet by 77 points over the second place Eagles, 189 – 112. The Eagles finished first in three different events, including the 4 x 800 meter relay, 100 meter dash, and the sprint medley relay. The 4 x 100 and 200 meter relay teams both clocked in at second place. Thirteen different events saw the initials “P-C-M” in the first place spot. Coach Bridget Burns tells KNIA/KRLS Sports that her girls have great attitudes and are working hard to compete to the best of their ability while remembering to have fun, and when you combine all of that, good things happen.
