In their first tournament action of the season, the Pella High girls’ tennis team came in fourth place at last night’s Indianola Tennis Invitational. The host Indians won the meet with 112 points, Ankeny and Southeast Polk each finished ahead of the Lady Dutch. Highlighting the day for Pella was the doubles’ team of Sami Wassenaar and Bri Buzick, who finished second in #1 doubles, and Molly Kalkwarf/Alli Dingeman who were first in #2 doubles. Leah Wilborn won a total of 9 games going 7-4 against Brooke Chilton of SE Polk, 2-9 against Erin Reysack of Ankeny, and 0-11 against Anya Kim of Indianola.

Anne Williamson won a total of 8 games going 2-9 against Courtney Cubbage of SE Polk, 4-7 against Katie Platts of Ankeny, and 4-7 against Elsa Langerwalter of Indianola.

Mackenzie Bossard won a total of 6 games going 4-7 against Cassidy Belcher of SE Polk, 2-9 against Peri Benna of Ankeny, and 0-11 against Audrey Lush of Indianola.

Wassenaar / Buzick won a total of 17 games going 3-8 against Rikki Thiede / Kalie Lange of SE Polk, 7-4 against Alyssa Sporrer / Kylie Spoth of Ankeny, and 7-4 against Bailey Trotter / Sidney Miller of Indianola.

Kalkwarf / Dingeman won a total of 28 games going 11-0 against Lauren Stenseth / Kendal O’Brien of SE Polk, 10-1 against Grace Dudzinski / Amy Wu of Ankeny, and 7-4 against Nicole Coglan / Monica Fonnolly of Indianola.

Kriegel / Jaarsma won a total of 21 games going 4-7 against Kristin Lange / Rachel Sporer of SE Polk, 9-2 against Kirsten Wedewer / Caroline Claxton of Ankeny, and 8-3 against Rutu Putol / Ruju Putol of Indianola.
