In their first tournament action of the season, the Pella High girls’ tennis team came in fourth place at last night’s Indianola Tennis Invitational. The host Indians won the meet with 112 points, Ankeny and Southeast Polk each finished ahead of the Lady Dutch. Highlighting the day for Pella was the doubles’ team of Sami Wassenaar and Bri Buzick, who finished second in #1 doubles, and Molly Kalkwarf/Alli Dingeman who were first in #2 doubles. Anne Williamson won a total of 8 games going 2-9 against Courtney Cubbage of SE Polk, 4-7 against Katie Platts of Ankeny, and 4-7 against Elsa Langerwalter of Indianola.
Mackenzie Bossard won a total of 6 games going 4-7 against Cassidy Belcher of SE Polk, 2-9 against Peri Benna of Ankeny, and 0-11 against Audrey Lush of Indianola.
Wassenaar / Buzick won a total of 17 games going 3-8 against Rikki Thiede / Kalie Lange of SE Polk, 7-4 against Alyssa Sporrer / Kylie Spoth of Ankeny, and 7-4 against Bailey Trotter / Sidney Miller of Indianola.
Kalkwarf / Dingeman won a total of 28 games going 11-0 against Lauren Stenseth / Kendal O’Brien of SE Polk, 10-1 against Grace Dudzinski / Amy Wu of Ankeny, and 7-4 against Nicole Coglan / Monica Fonnolly of Indianola.
