Twice Monday afternoon the KNIA KRLS Severe Weather Action Team was called into action. Shortly after 2pm, the National Weather Service issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for northwestern Marion County, for the Pleasantville area and north. Reports were broadcast live from the National Weather Service from our station in Knoxville, and reports of heavy rain, hail and wind were called in from Knoxville, Pleasantville, Swan and Runnells. The warning was allowed to expire at 2:45 as the storm moved through Marion County to the northwest.

Shortly after 3, another severe thunderstorm warning was issued, for the northern part of the county. Once again, reports were called in from around the county, stating hail and strong winds along with heavy rain were occurring. This warning expired at 3:45.

A tornado watch that was in effect until 7pm was also allowed to expire at about 5:30.
