Central softball coach, George Wares got to within one win of 1,000 for his illustrious career after his Dutch swept Webster University on Sunday. The Dutch coach may have gotten a few more gray hairs after a rough outing by his defense and pitching staff; Central hurlers were tagged for 13 hits while the defense committed three errors. However, the offense was able to back the team up to out-duel the Gorloks 10 – 7 in game one. Central recovered to win game two handily, 10 – 0 in five innings. The Dutch are now 22 – 4 overall, and Coach George Wares has a chance later today to be the first coach in NCAA Division III history to get to 1,000. Central plays the number five ranked Luther Norse later today for a doubleheader starting at 3:00 p.m.
