Congressional candidates Mark Lofgren attended the Candidate Coffee in Knoxville recently. Lofgren tells KNIA KRLS News that when he took office in Iowa, there was a $900 million budget gap and that’s been turned around, and he’d like to take those principles to Washington DC. His opponent is Dr. Mariannette Miller-Meeks, who attended the coffee also, and says as a doctor, a veteran and a small business owner, she has credentials and willingness to serve and sacrifice to do that. She says Washington is dysfunctional, and it’s time to put a problem-solver in office.
