A relatively quiet first half was just a prelude to an outstanding second half of soccer between Knoxville and Pella Christian last night. The game was scoreless at intermission, but didn’t stay like that for long. Two minutes into the second half, Colin Moyle found the back of the net to give the Panthers the lead. Alex Dye added a goal ten minutes later, which seemed to be the game-winner. However, the Eagles’ Jayden Van Sant scored a goal with around 4:00 left in regulation, and two minutes later, Jake De Ruiter tied the game up to send it into overtime. However, the Panthers would take advantage of a corner kick, with Douglas Black heading in the game-winner. Pella Christian drops to 1 – 9 while Knoxville gets back to .500 with the win to be at 6 – 6. Des Moines Christian is the Eagles’ next task on Monday, and the Panthers are off until Thursday to play Chariton.
