A close game and a blowout went Pella Christian’s way last night in doubleheader softball action. The Eagles edged Des Moines Christian 2 – 1 in game one; Nicole Kelderman went 2-for-2 with a pair of singles and pitched a complete game to earn the win on the mound. The Eagles also did not commit an error in that first contest. Game two was not nearly as close, but it still resulted in another win for Pella Christian, 9 – 1 over the Lions. The team swatted 15 hits; Tessa Howerzyl had three, as did Natalie Huisman, with four others contributing two apiece. Pella Christian is 3 – 0 on the season and will play at Pleasantville on Monday.
