The Knoxville Track and Field Squads will head to Dallas Center-Grimes for the class 3A state qualifier today. For the boys, Knoxville is one of the favorites along with Dallas Center-Grimes. The Panthers boast of six events according to Quick Stats that either have them in first or second place among times and distances in the state qualifier. Knoxville is expected to excel in the sprint races with Tanner Dunkin, also the throwing events with Nathan Winters and relay races like the 4×100 and 200. On the girls side, Coach Jeremy Van Engen says it will be tough to get events to the state meet, but he fells a few events have a shot at getting to the Blue Oval. Currently according to Quick Stats, the shuttle hurdle relay time is fourth with a season best 1:12.95. The State Qualifier is scheduled to begin at four.
