Knoxville’s Grand Theater Foundation will hold a work day today, from 9 to 3. Foundation President Dylan Morse asks volunteers to bring hammers, wire cutters, and drill drivers. The work will include some demolition, cleaning and light construction, including laying a floor for the main stage. He says new plumbing is ready to go in the restrooms and heating and cooling replacement will start in the next few weeks. Morse says to date, more than $180,000 has been raised toward the overall $500,000 goal; including a $500 donation from Northstar Elementary kids, who collected quarters to give to the theater.
