A key bases-clearing double in the sixth inning gave the Pella baseball team more than enough cushion to beat Centerville last night, 7 – 1, to move to 3 – 0 on the season. Austin Titman came up with the big hit, which capped off a run of seven unanswered runs after the Big Red put up a tally in the first frame. Tanner Wood went the distance on the mound to pick up the win for Pella. The Dutch are off until Monday to continue non-conference play with their first road game of the season in Carlisle. Start time for that contest has been moved up to a 6:00 p.m. first pitch due to lighting issues at the Wildcats’ park.
