The stats column would say, “13 Goals For, Zero Goals Against” for the Pella High soccer squads after yesterday’s pair of shutouts of Knoxville. Playing on the road, the Lady Dutch ended things early with an 11 – 0 victory in a game that was called at halftime. Seven different players scored for the Lady Dutch, including a hat trick by Brooke Darnell. Kelsey Brown and Mallory Lynch each supplied two goals, Ciara Buchheit had a goal and two assists and Molly Howard had a trio of helpers. Pella’s girls are now 8 – 2. The Little Dutch scored twice in the first half and held on to win 2 – 0 over the visiting Panthers. Will Warner and Seth Johnson each found the back of the net for Pella. The win propels the Dutch to a record of 10 – 3 – 1 overall and they remain undefeated in conference play. Pella’s boys have a week off to prepare for number-one ranked Norwalk, while the girls play again tomorrow against a very good Class 1A Nevada squad.
