Smith,Jake

In May 2013, Jake Christian Smith, now age 21, of Knoxville, pled guilty to sexual exploitation of a minor and sexual abuse in the 3rd degree, after being accused of secretly videotaping a 15-year-old girl performing a sex act. Smith’s sentence included a five-year no-contact order with anyone under the age of 18, and two concurrent 10-year prison terms. Smith appealed the no-contact order and argued that the court relied on his “lack of focus in life” in its conviction. Judge Randy Hefner this week affirmed the conviction, but vacated the no-contact order, stating the breadth of the order was unreasonable.
