Two vastly different games were played in Grinnell between the Tigers and Pella Christian last night. On the baseball diamond, the two squads combined for 14 first-inning runs, eight of them went the Tigers’ way as they defeated the Eagles, 13 – 7. Coltin Collins had a grand slam and the offense pounded out 12 hits. Over on the softball side, Natalie Vos shut down the lady Tigers with ten strikeouts in a 6 – 0 win. Vos allowed just two hits and one walk pitching the complete game shutout on the mound. The Eagles’ softball team improves to 9 – 7, while the boys drop to 5 – 12. Pella Christian hits the road again for a pair of doubleheaders against Dallas Center-Grimes later tonight.
