The jockeying for the Little Hawkeye Conference baseball race got a little interesting on Friday night with Knoxville’s win over Norwalk. That put the Warriors at 12-4 in the conference and the Panthers 10-6 just two games in back of Norwalk. While a lot would still have to happen for Knoxville to win the L-H-C, the Panthers can figure into the picture. Coach Joel Johnson says the team has had a no nonsense approach to the game of just basic baseball. Pella also has a chance to dictate how things finish and are in line for a top half finish but must get the job done against Knoxville tonight. The Little Dutch stand at 9-7 on the conference and with two wins can jump ahead of Knoxville into third place. The two rivals meet for the last time in a conference game with likely third place on the line in the varsity double header. Listen for the call on AM 1320 and 95.3 KNIA.
