After nearly 40 years of providing teller services at “The East Motor Bank,” Iowa State Savings Bank has announced that the location will close, as of September 26, 2014. CEO Stuart Job says “We continue to see a remarkable shift from in-person banking transactions toward electronic banking, payment and deposit systems.” He says customers’ preferences toward technology have prompted this decision, and adds that this shift is not unique to Iowa State Savings Bank, but is a national trend. The bank has three other “brick and mortar” locations in Knoxville and Melcher-Dallas to serve its customers.
