The Pella High softball team’s offense came alive in a tournament split in Ankeny on Saturday. The day started off on the right foot for the ladies, winning 13 – 0 over Madrid in four innings. Pella cranked out 17 hits, and Elyse Sadler was the winning pitcher of note, giving up just two hits. Kinzi Van Wyk took the loss in game two against Dowling, which Pella lost 16 – 6 in five frames. The Lady Dutch scored six runs on six hits while the pitching staff conceded a dozen knocks of their own. Pella’s girls are now 6 – 18 on the season and they will play two against Knoxville on Monday.
