Playing some hot baseball as of late, the Pella High boys will try to continue their push towards the district tournaments with a doubleheader against Grinnell tonight. The Little Dutch ran into the buzz saw of Eli Dunne back on June 9, in a 1 – 0 pitcher’s duel loss. After they were swept by Norwalk last week, Pella has won six of their last seven, including four straight within the conference to push their record to 7 – 6. On the softball diamond, the Lady Dutch will square off with a Tigers team that snapped a 16-game losing streak with a 15 – 14 win over South Tama. Of those 16 losses, ten of them the Tigers were shutout in. They look to have similar problems with Elyse Sadler scheduled to go on the mound. She held Grinnell to just four hits in an 8 – 0 loss in their first meet-up this season. You can hear game two of the baseball doubleheader live on 92.1 KRLS and streamed live at with Cory Houser on the play-by-play. Pregame coverage is scheduled to start at around 7:15 p.m. with first pitch at 7:30.
