The Marion County Board of Supervisors Wednesday morning approved a change order to the contract with E and H Restoration for the clock tower project. The total project cost has increased to just over $195,700. Additionally, the project was to be completed by July 1, but is now expected to be completed by October 15. Supervisor Mark Raymie says the problems were found after construction began, and he says the spending of taxpayer dollars is inevitable for safety concerns. Contractors say the bricks and mortar were crumbling, and needed to be completely replaced.
