Dallas Center-Grimes and Pella Christian played one another close yesterday, but it was the visiting school that toppled the Eagles in baseball and softball action. Pella Christian’s boys dropped a tough one in extra innings, 5 – 4 in eight. Nate Haveman came up with a clutch three-run homer in the bottom of the seventh inning to tie the game and send it to an extra frame, but the Eagles couldn’t hold the Mustangs back. Dallas Center-Grimes no-hit the Eagles’ girls, 5 – 0. Nicole Kelderman pitched the complete game, giving up ten hits. The boys fall to 3 – 3 while the softball team is 4 – 1. Pella Christian heads to Newton for another pair of contests on Friday.
