Charges for a Pella man arrested for enticement have been moved to federal court. Bennie Dean Cross was arrested in May on 12 counts of enticing a minor. Earlier this month Marion County Attorney Ed Bull moved to have the charges turned over to the U.S. government for prosecution. During a joint investigation with Immigration and Customs Enforcement, an officer portraying a fifteen year old female conducted online conversations with Cross from April 6 to May 22nd. Police say during these conversations Cross attempted to entice what he believed to be a fifteen-year-old female to meet him at a pre-arranged location for sex.
