C-M-B became the next team scratched off the list for PCM’s softball team last night, as the Mustangs prevailed 10 – 5 over the Raiders. Rachel Freland earned the win, striking out six batters. Katie VandeWall was stingy at the plate, going 3-for-4 and driving in three. Next up is a visit from a number-five ranked team in Class 4A, Carlisle, this evening. On the boys’ side, PCM decided to wait until the eighth inning to turn on the afterburners, blasting C-M-B 8 – 3 in extras. The Mustangs scored one in the top of the seventh to tie it and send it to an eighth frame. Clay Cooper was 3-for-5 with three RBI’s at the plate. The Mustang boys improve to 5 – 2 and are off until Wednesday to take on North Polk.
