Errors ruled the day on the baseball diamond last night, but it was Pella that was able to take advantage of more of them in a 6 – 0 defeat of Oskaloosa. Both the Little Dutch and Indians had a number “four” in their “E” columns. Tanner Wood pitched another complete game and got the shutout, allowing just six hits and striking out four. Tyler Hillman had a pair of doubles and an RBI to lead Pella at the plate. Pella scored two runs on three errors in the first inning, and Coach Jesse Jablonski said that it was a tainted snowball the rest of the way. The Lady Dutch fell 6 – 1 to the Indians. Lydia Dingeman had an RBI double for Pella’s lone run. The boys are 5 – 0 overall and 1 – 0 in the conference, while the ladies drop to 0 – 6. The Little Dutch play Chariton tonight and the girls will be at Dallas Center-Grimes.
