While some parts of the state are experiencing record levels of flooding, the impact won’t be nearly as significant at Lake Red Rock. The state’s largest lake is forecast to rise nearly 6 feet by July 1st to approximately 749 feet, according to river forecasts provided by the Army Corps of Engineers. The record level was set during the floods of 1993 at 782.67 feet. Saylorville Lake in Des Moines, upstream from Lake Red Rock, is forecasted to rise approximately 20 feet in the same time frame.
