Playing mostly 2A and 3A schools, the Melcher-Dallas softball team won two of their three matches in tournament action on Saturday. They started the day with a 14 – 0 loss to West Burlington, Notre Dame. Timely hits were the story in game two with Mediapolis, prevailing in a heavyweight bout, 17 – 12. Freshman Jordan Godfrey earned the win on the mound. The Saints capped their day off with an 8 – 4 win over Louisa-Muscatine. Anastasia Dennison picked up the victory as the pitcher. Melcher-Dallas is 4 – 3 on the season and they’ll play Diagonal next on Monday.
