The trial for former Knoxville football coach and PE teacher, Troy Rider, has been set for January 6, 2015, at 8:30am. Rider is charged with two counts of sexual abuse in the third degree, which is a class C felony; and one count of sexual exploitation by a school employee, which is a class D felony. Rider was arrested earlier this year after a minor girl and her mother made a report of the alleged abuse to the Knoxville Police Department. Rider has pled not guilty in the case, and has waived his right to a speedy trial.
