A one-run decision did not go Pleasantville baseball’s way last night, as they fell to Martensdale-St. Mary’s by a final score of 2 – 1. Josh Luna threw six innings and allowed only three hits. Patrick Sheehey and Zeb Adreon each had two hits apiece offensively for the Trojans. Coach Sheldon Card tells KNIA/KRLS Sports his team had trouble just putting the ball in play last night, as they struck out 13 times at the plate. Pleasantville softball fell in a doubleheader with the Blue Devils, 16 – 6 and 7 – 1. Pleasantville’s girls drop to 9 – 13 on the year while the baseball squad is 12 – 5. Softball plays Wayne at home on Thursday, but this afternoon, Sheldon Card’s boys have a special date inside Principal Park to take on Sigourney. Coach Card says he’s expecting a good turnout for their game. That first pitch is scheduled to be thrown at around 2:00 p.m.
