Even dealing with the gamut of Little Hawkeye Conference competitors this season, the Pella Christian baseball team still found themselves in a pretty good position entering the postseason. The Eagles started the year off with back-to-back games against state tournament teams a year ago in Twin Cedars and Albia. Despite losing both of those, Coach Nate Johnson still felt good about his team heading into an early season tournament against stiff competition before they began conference play the next week. The bats did get going somewhat for the Eagles. However, their pitching took a hit as Andrew VanderHart was ruled unable to throw for the rest of the season. Pella Christian ended the year with a record of 11 – 22.
