Central volleyball has long been looked at as a powerhouse not just in the Iowa Conference, but on the national stage. The last two years, however, have been a bit out of the ordinary. The Dutch have gone a combined 22 – 39, and haven’t finished higher than third place in the league since 2007. Coach Kent Clayberg says the lack of consistent success has been tough on everyone, from the fans up to the coaches. He adds, though, that it has given the current group of seniors some added motivation to have a breakout season. Central will play four games in Danville, Virginia to begin the 2014 season on August 30 and 31.
