With Mother Nature dealing the Pella Christian baseball team an abrupt and ugly exit to their season, the Eagles had to also say “So Long” to a pair of talented seniors. Andrew Vander Hart and Coltin Collins were key members of this team that played the game so well, and saved the best for their final season. Coach Nate Johnson says his squad won’t just lose leadership, they will lose two big sticks in their line-up next year. Though Vander Hart was unable to pitch for a majority of the season, his presence was still felt on offense, hitting .322 with seven doubles and a home run. Collins’ success was also at the plate but also on the field. He hit .406 on the year and drove in 25 runs, while committing just nine errors in 32 games played.
