The hits kept coming for Pella Christian’s softball team in the nightcap of their doubleheader with Norwalk on Tuesday. After dropping the first contest 9 – 1, the Eagles resoundingly responded with several multi-hit efforts in a 12 – 8 victory in game two. Tessa Howerzyl had two hits, Taylor Hartson and Natalie Huisman each hit a home run and Brooke Mitrisin and Chloe Dembski had three-hit nights. The Eagles’ boys were unfortunately on the wrong end of a sweep with the Warriors. Game one went to Norwalk 12 – 3, before falling 3 – 2 in the nightcap. Coltin Collins collected three hits and Nate Haveman had a two-run single for the Eagles’ baseball club, who drop to 8 – 17 on the year, while the softball team is now 12 – 16. Pella Christian travels to Knoxville tonight, and you can hear both games on KNIA/KRLS. Cory Houser and Marcus Johnson have the call of the baseball game on 92.1 KRLS, and Derek Cardwell has the softball game for you on AM 1320 and FM 95.3 KNIA. Pre-game coverage for both contests starts at roughly 7:15 p.m.
