Following Cardinal of Eldon’s 13 – 1 win over B-G-M last night, the Comets’ softball team come to the Tulip City this evening to face-off with Pella Christian in the quarterfinals of the Class 2A regional tournament. The Comets have good pitching and hit .321 on the season, while the Eagles have had their struggles at the plate, but come from an arguably more difficult conference, especially in 2014, which included a number-one ranked Dallas Center-Grimes squad, plus three games against ranked Oskaloosa and Norwalk teams. The Eagles received a first round bye, and Coach Karen Harrill says that it wouldn’t matter who her team would play tonight. You can hear tonight’s postseason game live on 92.1 KRLS and streamed live at with Cory Houser on the call. Pregame coverage starts at 6:45 p.m. and first pitch at seven.
