Trouncing Cardinal of Eldon on Wednesday, the Pella Christian softball team has the momentum on their side heading into Brooklyn tonight to take on Jesup in the Class 2A regional semifinals. Like the Eagles, the J-Hawks are a team with a sub-.500 record, but have won two high-scoring games to get to where they are; a 17 – 13 victory over Iowa Valley and a 7 – 6 win over North Tama. Coach Karen Harrill says the fact that her Eagles play in a strong conference helps them fly under the radar come tournament time. The J-Hawks have a team ERA over eight and have walked more than 200 batters, so look for the Eagles to try to capitalize on their opportunities tonight offensively. You can hear the game live on 92.1 KRLS and online at with Cory Houser on the call. Pregame coverage starts at 6:45 p.m. with first pitch at seven.
