Going into the 2014 baseball season, not very many people were talking about Knoxville as a favorite to win the Little Hawkeye Conference title. The players had a goal and the coaches have given emphasis, but outside the Panthers, the talk was Norwalk and Dallas Center-Grimes battling it out. Going into the final week of the conference season, there the Panthers are one game out of first place Norwalk going into a double header against Dallas Center-Grimes on Monday. Panthers Coach Joel Johnson tells KNIA/KRLS why he gives so much weight to a conference title. The Panthers currently stand at 13-6 while Norwalk is 14-5 in the L-H-C. For Knoxville to grab at least a share of the title they would need to win at least one of the two games against Dallas Center-Grimes on Monday while Oskaloosa would need to beat Norwalk in one of their two games. For the Panthers to win it outright, they would need to sweep D-C-G and Osky would need to sweep Norwalk.
