The Pella Lady Dutch softball team had their fourth crack at trying to beat Oskaloosa this season in the Class 4A regional semifinal showdown. The fourth time wasn’t the charm. Pella started with shaky defense in the first, and two Osky hits and a Pella error later and it was a 3-0 deficit early. Pella answered back with two of their own after Lydia and Alexa Dingeman lead off the bottom of the 4th with hits to make it 5 – 2. However, the offense wasn’t able to crack a tough Indian pitching staff the rest of the way. Head Coach Krista DeMeulenaere says she’s happy with the way her team performed against a tough Oskaloosa squad. Pella finishes their season at 11-21 and will bid farewell to a trio of seniors, including Maddy Dingeman, Sierra Williams, and Lexi McGinley.
