For fans of Central volleyball, the last few seasons have been a bit frustrating. The Dutch have turned in sub-.500 records for the first time since 1990, and haven’t had back-to-back losing seasons since the mid-1970s. However, last season saw a change in schematics for Coach Kent Clayberg and his Dutch. Coach Clayberg says so far, with a lot of trial and error, it has been high-risk, high-reward. Clayberg also tells KNIA/KRLS Sports that you could really see the light bulbs starting to turn on towards the end of the 2013 season, when the Dutch won their last five matches and seven of their last nine. Central will open up play on August 30, making a trip to Virginia and the Averett Cougar Classic.
