A graduating senior at Pella High School is receiving a scholarship from an international women’s organization. The P.E.O. STAR Scholarship for the 2014-2015 academic year was presented to Maria Belding, who graduated from Pella High School in May. Belding was one of 350 recipients selected from the 1891 applications submitted. She is the daughter of Amy and Randy Belding, and she was recommended for this scholarship by the P.E.O chapter in Pella. Belding is studying Domestic Poverty Policy at American University in Washington D.C. The P.E.O. STAR Scholarship is a $2,500 scholarship based on excellence in leadership, extracurricular activities, community service, academics and potential for future success.
