The Pella City Council discussed the indoor pool renovation project with the project’s engineering firm at a special Policy and Planning meeting after the most recent city council meeting. City Administrator Mike Nardini says the change orders will total roughly to $200,000. However, he says the cost of those changes fall within a widely-accepted and allowable standard percentage of the overall budget at 7.5%. He says that the most difficult aspects of this renovation is the difference in construction standards and methods over three and a half decades. He adds that the project is still under budget and will likely stay that way as it nears completion. Renovations at the Indoor Pool Facility at the Aquatic Center are on schedule and the project is expected to be completed in November.
