A big start by the Twin Cedars baseball team allowed them to cruise to a 10 – 0, six-inning victory over Southeast Warren in last night’s Class 1A district semifinal. The Sabers batted around in the first, scoring six runs, highlighted by a big two-run double by Brent Parker, as Twin Cedars roughed up starting pitcher, Lance Hoch. It was 9 – 0 after two, and the score held that way until a walk-off single in the bottom of the sixth from Collin Still ended the game. Coach Matt Miller says there were positives and negatives he took away from the win. Coy Moore allowed just one hit and one walk while striking out eight in five innings of shutout work to get the win. Twin Cedars is now 31 – 0 on the season and they take on Pleasantville in the Class 1A district 12 final on Saturday night, a game you can hear on 92.1 KRLS.
