A Missouri man was transported to Mercy in Des Moines by way of helicopter after he was ejected from his overturned vehicle on Highway 163 west of Otley late Sunday. At approximately 6:48 p.m. crews made their way to the vehicle just east of mile marker 33 on the westbound lane of Highway 163. Traffic was reduced to one lane westbound and closed multiple times for more than an hour. The lone occupant of the vehicle was 44 year old Joseph Puszcar of St. Peters, Missouri, and was he transported via helicopter to Mercy in Des Moines and the extent of his injuries are unknown at this time. Multiple agencies assisted at the scene, including the Iowa State Patrol, Marion County Sheriff’s Office, Pella Police, Pella Ambulance, and Pella Fire.
