Park Rangers at local recreational areas would like to remind the public about safety tips as campers make preparations for the final major camping weekend of the summer.
Park Ranger Tracy Spry says it’s important to supervise all children, especially near waterways and to know where they are headed at all times. She says to bring an extra set of clothes in case of sudden changes in weather. She reminds campers to only start fires in designated areas. Keep food tightly sealed in containers to prevent some of the wildlife entering your campground. Stay tuned to KNIA/KRLS for up-to-the-minute weather information this holiday weekend.
