The Pella High football team once again looks like the team to beat in their district in Class 3A this year. They did lose some talented seniors, but bring back a very experienced and special group of juniors and seniors, as well as some sophomores, that are hoping to have as much, if not more success than they did in 2013. One of those cogs that returns this season is quarterback Noah Clayberg, who threw for over 700 yards and rushed for nearly 1,300, with 21 rushing touchdowns to boot. Coach Jay McKinstrey says that Clayberg has put in a lot of time in the offseason getting better and has been very impressed by what he’s seen so far. Clayberg will be joined by Nathan Henry and Quinton Murphy in the backfield for a serious triple threat on the ground. Pella plays Washington in six days to begin their 2014 season.
