The Pella Christian baseball team will be losing a very talented athlete in Coltin Collins when they get going again next May. Collins, who was a shortstop for a majority of the games the Eagles played, swung a consistent bat in the three years he was a varsity starter. For his Eagles’ career, Collins hit .337, drove in 54 runs, hit 20 doubles, four triples and a home run. Coach Nate Johnson says not only will his squad be saying goodbye to a good hitter, but to an all-around utility player. Johnson says pitching wasn’t Collins’ favorite thing to do, but when he was called upon, he battled for the team and kept games close for them.
