Sprint Cars aren’t the only vehicles on the increase in Knoxville during Nationals.

Golf carts are also on the rise, as visitors and residents alike utilize them more frequently. Knoxville Police Lieutenant Aaron Fuller reminds drivers they must follow state law when operating golf carts on city streets.

“You cannot operate them after dark,” said Lt. Fuller during an interview for Let’s Talk Knoxville. “The only street in Knoxville that you can’t operate a golf cart on is Highway 14 or Lincoln Street, which is the street that runs north and south in front of the racetrack.”

“You can operate it across Highway 14-Lincoln Street but you cannot go north and south on that street.”

All drivers must also have a valid driver’s license and insurance for their golf cart.
