They may have come out of the Dallas Center – Grimes gym without a win, but the PCM volleyball team still showed heart and stayed competitive in the four matches they played last night. As one of the smallest schools in attendance, the Mustangs opened up and played the Fillies, and took them to three sets before falling 10 – 21 in game one, winning set two 21 – 14, and dropping the rubber match 6 – 15. Ashley Van Gorp had four kills and eight digs, while Jayci Vos and seven assists. PCM fell to Fort Dodge in straight sets, 20 – 22 and 10 – 21. The Mustangs fell to Southeast Polk 11 – 21 and 7 – 21, and ended the night with a 19 – 21, 11 – 21 loss to Nodaway Valley. PCM begins the season 0 – 4, and will play in another tournament this Saturday at Bondurant – Farrar.
