The Pella Public Library is receiving two grants to further programs.

The library received a $500 grant from Elevate Iowa to help bolster the Lego club. Director Wendy Street says they are using the grant money to recruit more girls. The grants are given to help libraries implement programming that educates young people and their parents about the career opportunities in manufacturing. Street says the library also received a grant from the Marion County Community Foundation to help digitize materials from the heritage room. They purchased a scanner and a portable hard drive to scan documents to upload to the Marion County genealogy website.
